About company
As experienced indoor volleyball players, Erik Deutschmann, Stephan Eckardt and Olaf König discovered the fun and trend sport of beach volleyball very early on. As enthusiastic beach volleyball players, at the beginning of the 1990s they had a feeling for the need for permanent venues for the constantly growing beach volleyball community in the capital.
The three friends leased a fallow area on Chausseestrasse in Berlin-Mitte. They piled up sand from the Brandenburg region, set up seven professional beach volleyball courts and rented the fields to sports enthusiasts by the hour. The complex, named “BeachMitte”, grew to 36 fields within seven years.
