STAIND™ was conceived on November 2011 and was dubbed with a name coined by combining the surnames of its original founders. Coincidentally, the name sounded like the verb "stained" which could mean "to be marked with colors that could not be easily removed." Staind™ tries to redefine "stain"—from the stain that we used to get rid of to a stain that everyone would love to be marked with. PARADIGM SHIFT STAIND™ started as a customized t-shirt printing shop specializing in personalized designs for our clients in 2011. A design customized for Bulacan Association of Resort Owners for their Singkaban Fiesta event entitled Baro ng Bulacan paved way to its evolution into a local t-shirt retail brand. As soon as the said design was posted at STAIND™’s facebook fan page, it generated several inquiries from facebook users expressing willingness to buy the shirt which was exclusively designed for that event. Our team got a cue from this development and realized that there is really a niche for patriotic products. There is indeed a demand, and STAIND™ responded to that demand. Clueless of what’s going to happen, we drew courage and inspiration from success stories of existing indie shirt companies like Team Manila, Artwork, Nick Automatic, and the likes. We released our initial statement shirt design that is Proud Bulakenyo and it sold like hotcakes. That was the defining moment of STAIND™. From customized shirt printing, we are now enjoying instant popularity among Bulakenyos as a promising local brand that highlights local pride and culture. Surprisingly, facebook users across the country are also inquiring about our shirts. Hence, we immediately introduced our shipping scheme to cater to clients outside Malolos who want to buy our products. CATALYST OF CHANGE As we continue to draw inspiration from the suburb lifestyle, historical heritage, and pop culture, we also strive to inspire Bulakeños through our artworks. We believe that graphic design is a catalyst for positive change. By continuously infusing local flavors into our designs, we inspire and instill nationalism, pride and positivity among Filipinos.
